Really enjoyed trying out the Lenny Lamb Preschool carrier with my daughters over the last few days.
The carrier is recommended from age 1 to age 6yrs - max 30kg. The carrier has an adjustable back panel that can be adjusted on height and width, to fit your child perfectly. The waistband has their new buckle closure, where the buckle can be easily unclipped with one hand. The small pouch on the wasitband with the magnetic closure is very handy for keeping phone/nappy/purse handy. The shoulder straps which can be worn crossed or rucksack style have dual adjustable straps which means that no matter what direction you're pulling the webbing, you're never pulling at an awkward angle against your wrist. There are pfa's (perfect fit adjusters) on the shoulder straps so the carrier will fit a wide range of sizes. The baby hood unclips and is elasticated with long straps, which makes for easy reaching when back carrying. The small pouch on the wasitband with the magnetic closure is very handy for keeping phone/nappy/purse handy. I really like the level of padding on the shoulder straps and waistband and always feel that it gives great support. The carrier comes in a range of patterns with something to suit everyone. Things that draw me to LennyLamb: I have always liked carriers with pfa's as I found them so handy when breastfeeding. I would have the pfa's closed and then open them when I wanted to adjust the carrier slightly to breastfeed my baby, it meant it was easier for me to readjust the carrier and keep my little one in a comfortable position when they were feeding. I really like the option of straps that cross or can be worn rucksack style. I like supporting a homegrown family friendly busiiness I initially tried the LennyLamb Preschool carrier with my 3yr old and carried her in front and on my back. It was lovely to have some slingy cuddles with her as she wants to walk and scoot everywhere and will hardly ever go up in the carrier. I put the carrier to the test by putting my almost 7yr old in a back carry and was pleasantly surprised at how well her legs were supported and that the back panel reached right up to her neck. Her weight sat on my hips so I'd definitely be able to carry her for a quick 30mins or so although it would be almost never she'd be looking for me to carry her at all these days but it's great to have the option when you're out on a long hike or a day at the zoo! All in all, I'm really happy with this new addition to the Lenny Lamb family and I'll be looking forward to customer feedback as the carrier is also available to hire so you can try before you buy!

We're almost 7 months along this Covid-19 journey and it's been a year like no other! I've been offering Babywearing Consultations online via Zoom since lockdown in March and they've proved very popular. I've helped people with their slings from further afield than I'd ever be able to travel in-person. While we're still in these uncertain times and with restrictions changing as they are, I'm continuing to offer Babywearing Consultations via Zoom. There are no in-person babywearing consultations available at present. How it works: Obviously there's nothing that can beat an in-person babywearing consultation where you are getting real time, hands on assistance with your sling. When you book an online babywearing consultation, I will send you an information form to get some details about you and your child and what sling you'd like to use. Once your appointment has been confirmed, you will receive a scheduled Zoom invite along with some information on what we'll be practising on the day. During your online babywearing consultation, we will discuss safe babywearing and how to dress your baby for the sling. I will demonstrate how to use your chosen sling with my weighted demo doll and then we will practise together. You will be encouraged to repeat the steps until you're confident using your sling and you'll be given time to ask any questions you may have. Your online babywearing consultation will be followed up with an email detailing your session. You're also given a FREE 15 minute Zoom Call FOLLOW UP within 2 weeks of your initial consultation for tweaking or troubleshooting your carrier or to ask any questions you may have. I also offer a free follow up by phone, email or text at any stage after your babywearing consultation, so don't worry, you're not just left to fend for yourself afterwards! The cost for a 1hr Zoom Babywearing Consultation is €35 and can be booked here. If you've got some questions before you make your booking, please get in touch. Or if you'd like to gift someone a babywearing consultation, you can buy a gift voucher here. Sling Hire:
You can hire a sling in advance of your babywearing consultation by booking it here. Collection from Swords or postal hire is also available. Sling Hire T&C apply Excited to have some new Lenny Lamb stock arriving. Most of it is pre-ordered but I will now have the Preschool size carrier available for hire (suitable from 1yr to 6yrs!!!). I'm really looking forward to trying this out with my 3yr old, I'm sure I can bribe her up for a few minutes at least. As a special birthday treat for myself I've bought myself a beautiful Lenny Lamb bag since my littlest one hardly ever goes up these days so I can't justify another wrap but still love their products. Have a look at the Lenny Lamb section to see if there's anything there you like!
So that's it for Wear A Hug Fair 2019! Another great day packed full of babywearing, shopping, cupcakes and some great speakers invited to talk.
I was delighted to catch up with Dr Rosie Knowles of Carrying Matters and enjoyed listening to her talk. It was a busy day followed by the Babywearing Ireland AGM and we were lucky enough to get some new slings for the Fingal BWI sling library too! I have to say that I really love a bargain myself and I also love sharing the babywearing love so to celebrate getting over January and in case you're looking to buy a gift for that love of your life , why not have a quick browse of what's in stock and enjoy getting a good bargain while you're at it. 25% off all stock with code "LOVE" Offer ends 15/02/2019 After a mild enough winter so far, the chill has finally arrived and I've been getting emails and pm's about keeping warm in this colder weather. There are many options available. depending on your needs and budget, so I'll outline below some tips my clients have found useful! Layers, layers. layersSo you guessed it - layers are best when babywearing - for both yourself and your little cherub. Depending on how cold it is outside, you can adjust the number of layers accordingly. General rule of thumb would be normal indoor clothes and an extra layer for outside such as: woolen cardigan or fleece hoody, hat or baby hood, baby leg warmers or an extra pair of socks or tights under their trousers. There are also fleece rompers that are not padded and are suitable for using with a sling. Outdoor layerThe extra outdoor layer, which can be used as handy as wrapping a blanket around the sling. (Huge thanks to Josie for this beautifully knitted star blanket for our little Réiltín). Even an oversized hoody that you can zip up over both of you would work well too! Babywearing CoverA babywearing cover can be worn over the sling and then put your own jacket on, which can be zipped up a bit, keeping your baby's legs warm too. Jackets A babywearing fleece or waterproof jacket can be worn with your baby on your front and some also have the option for you to carry them on your back too. Most come with a maternity insert, making it an all-round great buy. Generally the fleece jackets would be ok in a very light shower but you would need to have an umbrella with you in case you got caught out in a downpour. The softshell waterproof jackets are great for all weathers and will keep both of you lovely and dry even in bad rain. Romper suitLike me, you might find a fleece all-in-one romper suit really handy for toddlers that love to be up and down and up again as they have a wander around and then want carried soon after as little legs tire easily! Baby Hood
Babywearing BootiesBabywearing booties will keep your baby's legs and toes warm on cold days. Legs that stick out of the carrier or sling are prone to getting colder quicker so these handy add on's can help prevent that. Safety

Fidella FlyClickThe FlyClick combines the benefits of our Fidella Fly Tai with the simplicity of our Fidella Fusion. Lightweight & flexible, just perfect for everyday use! The baby carrier has padded shoulder straps, which lie comfortably on the shoulders. They can also fan out and distribute optimally the weight of your child. The waist belt is closed with a safety buckle. You can carry your baby on front, on your back or on your hip. The Fidella FlyClick can be used from birth through the first twelve months. The Fidella FlyClick in facts:
There is also Fidella® FlyClick Plus which can be used from 9 months to approx 3.5 years. The order will be arriving next week so we'll get a chance to give it a good go then! So this is how we've managed to go out and about this winter. This particular day, it was 6 deg outside and it was a dry, cold day. I dressed little miss in her normal indoor clothes - a vest and babygro and she was wearing a LennyLamb baby hood and fleece lined booties to keep snug. The woven wrap gave her another layer over her torso to keep her warm and the waterproof babywearing jacket kept us both snug and warm together. I had a fleece turtleneck from LennyLamb and a wooly hat to keep myself warm too.
What a great day at the Wear A Hug Fair. Not only was it my birthday but I got to spend the day surrounded by slings, talking about slings, looking at slings. My husband and our littlest came with me to help on the day. I couldn't have managed without him! And he did a great job with our little one, modelling slings for the day! I came away from the fair already looking forward to next year. There's such a buzz at the fair and there's just something special about having the whole place filled with families and slings. I was delighted that Johanna of Johanna King Photography & Films took some snaps of us on the day. Have a look at her website to see some more of her work and to arrange a photo shoot for your family.
