A new addition to the sling library - the Ergo Adapt. It's suitable from 7-45lbs. The great thing about this Ergo is that you don't need an infant insert as you would for the Ergobaby Original. I've tried it out with 3 different size demo dolls for comparison. What I like about this version is that there is a cinch strap adjuster on the back panel and there are velcro tabs on the waistband to offer 3 different sizes. There's a lumbar support on the waistbelt which feels nice although I've not tried one before - it was good for hiding muffin top on front when I tried a back carry ☺ The straps can be worn rucksack style or crossed which is good to have the option. It has single adjustable straps which you pull backwards (when front carrying) to tighten which can be a bit awkward. Short sharp tugs in the direction of the webbing helps to tighten. There is sufficient webbing to suit a wide range of sizes but perhaps for petite wearers, rucksack style may not offer a snug enough fit. The small pocket on the back panel holds the rolled up hood when not in use and there's a button down neck support that's rolled down for younger babies and buttoned up for older children. All in all I think this is a nice offering from Ergobaby and I look forward to borrowing a small baby to try it out as a newborn carrier to see how it fairs in comparison to other "from birth" carriers. I had a quick go of it with my 2.5yr old daughter in a back carry (she fell asleep ☺). The back panel can button up to make the panel a lot longer than the Ergobaby Original. Very comfortable and supportive and her legs are still nicely supported too. This carrier is available for hire from my sling library. Contact me to arrange - collection from Swords, Co Dublin!

Hi, thank you for this review. Have you had the opportunity to test the ergobaby adapt with a newborn meanwhile? I don't find a lot of reviews.

Hi MUMU0, thanks for your comment. The youngest baby I tried out the Ergobaby Adapt with was a 4 week old that was 8.5lb. Have you tried it out yourself yet? I have a sling hire service if you'd like to borrow it to try out yourself to see how you get on with it? http://www.leanbhbabywearing.ie/sling-hire.html
